iHerb Haul, Real Techniques Brush Review and an EOTD!

Hi lovelies!

I just wanted to share my iHerb haul with you. Last week I realised iHerb were doing a special for new customers, where new customers received up to $10 off their order. I'd been wanting to put an order in for a while so I couldn't resist; I stocked up on two Hurraw lip balms and some Real Technique brushes. In case you aren't familiar with them, RT are a synthetic brush line produced by Samantha Chapman, an experienced make up artist and YouTube guru (she goes by Pixiwoo on YT)! Click here for more information on the Real Technique line.

I've been wanting a new eyeshadow blending brush, and I noticed that she had an amazing starter set of eye make up brushes with the blending brush included, so I decided to go ahead and invest seeing as the entire eye starter set only cost about $16 (which would be the cost of one brush by Manicare). So I figured I'd just go ahead with the order, after all, if I didn't like the other brushes, it would be like paying for the blending brush and getting the other 3 brushes for free.

The shipment actually arrived in a week, which was fantastic! Shipping was also quite affordable, at $6 for the lot. I was really impressed and will definitely be ordering from them again! So here are some photos of my haul and close ups of the RT brushes I bought.

The entire haul!

Or unfolded for the perfect shading/contouring brush!

My pet peeve: I hate when the packaging leaves
marks on the products.

Now, I've only played with the eye starter set so far but I am loving the base shadow and eyeshadow crease brushes. The base shadow really packs the base shadow colour on perfectly and seems to fit the contours of my eyelid perfectly! The shadow crease brush is what I use to blend my outer corner colours, and it does it to perfection. It's exactly what I wanted and I'm so happy I bought this set. I also really like the accent brush which I've used to shade eyeshadow along my lower lashline.

Here's a quick EOTD I did today using these brushes. They lasted quite well all day but I had to touch up the shadows a bit before I took the photos. They are a bit more vivid in real life but appear quite muted due to the terrible lighting in my flat. Oh, and do excuse the messy brows, I'm due for a visit to my brow specialist to get them done soon!

The nice thing about synthetic brushes is they dry so much quicker than natural bristles when you wash them!

If you'd like to buy any of these items, you can get them from iHerb, and if you enter my unique code, SAJ984, you'll get a discount off your order!

Have you tried any of these brushes, lovelies? If so, which was your favourite?

Much love,
MM.

  1. I too hate it when you get a new product yet it is marked! It still looks like a great brush anyway :)

    1. I've only tried the Black Cherry one so far, the scent of cherries is quite strong but there isn't much taste. I also don't see much pigmentation but it's moisturising enough! Not the most moisturising one I own but it's not too shabby!

  5. Just had to check out your brush haul! The eye collection looks nice and it's great it comes with 5 brushes. How annoying that some glue stuck to the bottom of your stippling brush, I hope you were able to get rid of it. I love the little folding kabuki - so cute!
