I do apologise for not having blogged in a week, work has been a little bit insane and I've also had social engagements every single day, so I've barely been home! I did sit down to write this post on Thursday but unfortunately, I accidentally deleted all the good photos! As you can imagine, I was a little upset, so I decided to take a little break to get over the disappointment.
Anyway, here are some photos of my first attempt at an ombré gradient manicure. I do apologise for the quality of the photos, but these are all I had left after inadvertently deleting the rest (I couldn't take more photos either as I'd already removed the manicure)! :( Oh well, I'll just share what I do have with you, and take more photos the next time I do another gradient manicure.
I used Zoya Valerie for the basecoat, and sponged on Zoya Arielle and Essence Sparkling Water Lily over it for the ombré gradients.
I was quite happy with how it turned out, but then I got to wondering what it would look like with a glitter overlay, so I applied a layer of Essence Time for Romance over all the nails, and voilá!
What did you think of my first ombré attempt, lovelies? Do you prefer it with or without the glitter overlay?
I hope you enjoyed that little post, and I will have more upcoming posts to share soon, so please stay tuned!
Much love,
MM.

Looks great! Love the shimmery purple effect on the ombre! Your nails look great too :)
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your photos! Been there, (hubby) done that and we lost a few months' worth of life in photos! Argh terrible!
Hi Su! I haven't seen you in a while!
DeleteThank you so much! I know what you mean, it's always sad when that happens and you know you can never get it back...sigh.
love the manicure! man must have been a real bummer losing your photos
ReplyDeleteThank you! It so was, this manicure was so much prettier in the other photos! Oh well, cést la vie!

Aww no :( I deleted some of my photos for an assignment last week, it was a sad time indeed. I like the nails!

Oh no, that must have been devastating, I feel your pain. :(
DeleteHope all went well with the rest of the assignment though!
Thank you!

Wow beautiful colours!! I prefer them with the glitter look, so gorgeous! sorry to hear about your photos, those leftover ones are still pretty good :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Hui! I couldn't decide which look I preferred, both were quite nice but the ombré was a bit more subtle with the glitter overlay. :)
DeleteI'm actually glad I didn't delete them ALL, you'd probably have heard my wail all the way to Port Melbourne. :P
Wow the mani looks great and does not like like a first attempt ..I really wanna try this too..
ReplyDeleteThank you, Saumya, and you certainly must! Let me know once you've given it a go. :)
DeleteOoohhh yes i do like it.
ReplyDeleteCan't tell that it's your first attempt!
Thank you, hun!
DeleteI'm so glad to hear you say that, haha...onwards and upwards then! :)
I love it! It's very classic. I love the glitter too. Was it hard to remove?
ReplyDeleteThank you so much. :)
DeleteNot at all, very easy indeed! I have found most of the Essence glitters I have to be quite easy to remove! :)
Nothing worse than losing your photos....I currently have a whole heap on a camera that has died - so frustrating.
ReplyDeleteI love the mani, it looks great. I prefer it without the glitter, as its a bit more subtle and more classic and elegant.
