My Marc Jacobs Perfume Collection - Daisy Eau So Fresh, Daisy solid perfume ring, Lola, Dot and Honey!

In case you didn't know, I'm a bit mad about perfumes. I don't really believe in having a signature scent (for myself, anyway - I'd just get a bit tired of it if I wore it every day) and I love matching my fragrance to my mood/occasion! I also have lots of perfumes which have been given to me by people I love, and it never fails to make me think of them when I put it on (which is a reason why I love to gift perfumes too)!

As a result, I thought I'd share some perfume reviews from you from time to time, beginning with my Marc Jacobs collection! I love Marc Jacobs, he's such a talented designer and I adore everything he puts out, be it clothing, fragrances, sunglasses or his new makeup line. While I love the scent of the perfumes I have below, I also love the bottles; the designs are gorgeous and a fantastic way to 'pretty' up your dressing table! Without further ado, let's get on to looking at my little collection...

Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau So Fresh (Eau de Toilette)

Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau So Fresh (Eau de Toilette) and Marc Jacobs Daisy Solid Perfume.

Daisy Eau So Fresh was launched in 2011 and is a more fruity version of the original Daisy, making it a fruity floral scent. To me, it tends more towards a powdery floral. According to the MJ website, it has the following notes:

Top Layer: Natural Raspberry, Grapefruit, Pear
Mid Base: Violets, Wild Rose, Apple Blossom
Dry Base: Musks, Cedarwood, Plum

What I love about this scent is how light and feminine it is, it has medium sillage (perfume speak for the trail that's left behind as you walk through an area; for instance, a perfume with high sillage is when someone walks past wearing a lovely scent that is detectable even after they've left the room) but lingers on your skin for hours after application, even after a long day at work! The pale pink, almost square bottle is fairly classic in design, with a cluster of daisies on the top.

This is where I'm going to sneakily include a mention of my Daisy solid perfume. I'm a sucker for fragrances that are easily portable, and I love the idea of taking one out in the form of an accessory you can wear! This is designed so you can wear it as a ring or a necklace, but I prefer wearing it as a ring because of the way it hangs on the chain. All you do is swivel the top to open it, rub your fingertip over the pan, and rub on to where you want to touch up your fragrance.

Daisy was actually launched in 2008 and has the following notes:

Top Notes: Strawberry, Violet Leaves
Mid Notes: Violet Petals, Jasmine Bouquet
Base Notes: Musk, Vanilla Infusion

Both these scents are what I would choose to wear to work, or an interview.

Marc Jacobs Lola (Eau de Parfum)

Marc Jacobs Lola (Eau de Parfum)

Lola was officially released in 2009, and is also marked as a fruity floral. To me, it definitely tends more towards a sweeter fragrance, which I'm partial to! While it has minimal sillage, I can get a few hours out of it before I have to touch up, but it definitely doesn't linger as long as Daisy Eau So Fresh does (which is ironic, given this is an EDP and should last longer). I love the sweet, yet mysterious and sexy scent though, and it's one that I get many compliments on.

Lola has the following notes:

Top Notes: Pink Peppercorn, Pear, Ruby Red Grapefruit
Mid Notes: Peony, Rose, Geranium 
Base Notes: Vanilla, Tonka Bean, Musk

I have to add that the gorgeous purple bottle with stylized flower (complete with leaf) on top is stunning. I remember mum looking at it and saying 'what a beautiful perfume bottle'!

Lola is what I would choose to wear on a date.

Marc Jacobs Dot (Eau de Parfum)

Marc Jacobs Dot (Eau de Parfum)

Dot was released last year in 2012, and is marked as a warm, fruity floral. I was very much in love with it, which was why I was delighted when a very dear friend gave it to me as a gift (thank you, you know who you are ♥)! I consider this the sweetest fragrance out of the collection I own, though it has a lot of warmth in it from the vanilla tones.

Top Notes: Honeysuckle, Red Berries, Pitahaya (dragon fruit)
Mid Notes: Jasmine, Orange Blossom, Coconut
Base Notes: Driftwood, Vanilla, Musk

Unfortunately though, Dot has a tendency to disappear on me after a little while, and neither I nor anyone else can scent it on my skin, even with layering! Bit of a shame given how much I love the scent. I do love the gorgeous red bottle with polka dots, while the lid looks like a stylized butterfly (in fact, I loved it so much I created a NOTD for it)! This is probably my favourite design of all the bottles!

Marc Jacobs Dot (Eau de Parfum)

Dot is what I would choose to wear out shopping, or while out with friends. 

Marc Jacobs Honey (Eau de Parfum)*

Marc Jacobs Honey (Eau de Parfum)

Honey is the newest release from Marc Jacobs, having only been released in the last few months! The design of the bottle is quite similar to Dot, except with a yellow colour scheme instead of red. Also marked as a fruity floral (are we sensing a theme yet?), it has the following notes:

Top Note – Pear, Juicy Mandarin
Mid Note – Orange Blossom, Peach Nectar, Apricot, Honeysuckle
Base Note – Honey, Golden Vanilla, Smooth Woods

I have to confess that this is my current favourite of all! I do think it has the perfect balance of floral and sweetness to it, and the strong honeysuckle scent is immediately detectable. It eventually wears down to a warm, feminine scent which keeps it from being too sweet, but with medium sillage and wear; I can get several hours out of this before I need to touch up. With the warmer weather on us, I think this would be the perfect scent to wear to the beach, or even out on a date. It's versatile enough to fit any occasion!

Honey would fit almost all occasions I could think of.
