Apologies for the lack of posts lately, I've been a bit under the weather! I've managed to contract tendonitis, so my Achilles' tendons are not happy, and I've also got really bad aches and pains, similar to the flu but minus the cough/cold factor!
Anyhow, on to happier things, it's been a while since I shared a creative post so I wanted to create a look for you, solely using The Body Shop products! Now, gorgeous bath and body products probably come to mind when you think of The Body Shop, but did you know they also have stunning makeup products?
Keep reading after the jump!
I used The Body Shop Shimmer Cubes Palette 06 on the eyes, followed by the All-In-One Cheek Colour in Amber on cheeks and the new Colour Crush Lipstick Damson in Distress on lips. The Shimmer Cubes Palette comes with four shades; Honeycomb, Dark Chocolate, Marshmallow and Choc Chip, and has the gorgeous shimmer of loose pigments but in the convenience of a pressed form. Each shadow is pressed in a little square with its own lid (so its portable), and all four individual shades then fit together in the larger palette case. While they are meant to be used as eyeshadows, you can also use the paler shades as highlighter, as the warm tones are very flattering. The shades are remarkably pigmented for neutrals, and apply beautifully for a natural look. You can also use them with a wet brush for added pigmentation.
The All-In-One Cheek Colour in Amber is a peachy tan shade with gold microshimmer. With ingredients like Vitamin E and marula oil, it does double duty as skincare and makeup in one! It does go on quite sheer but you can build it up for more colour, and it would be perfect for those with fair to medium tones. I'm especially loving the new Colour Crush lipsticks, they are incredibly moisturising and comfortable to wear, all while packed with pigmentation (and smelling pleasantly, if faintly, of roses)! Damson in Distress is a dark, vampy shade in the tube, but I think it's definitely a gorgeous night shade as it turns to a beautiful, plummy red on the lips.

It was a really simply look to achieve. All I did was blend Marshmallow all over the mobile lid, taking it slightly higher than the creaseline, then Honeycomb over the outer 2/3 of the mobile lid. I blended Choc Chip through the creaseline and then used Dark Chocolate on the outer third for definition. I also dipped an eyeliner brush in Dark Chocolate and used it on my lower lashline. That was it!
The Shimmer Cubes palette retails for $40.95, while the All-In-One Cheek palette retails for $26.95. The Colour Crush lipsticks retail for $23.95 and are available in a whopping 22 shades! You can shop the collection here.
I hope you enjoyed this look, lovelies. Have you tried any other makeup products from The Body Shop line?
Much love,
MM.
