Essence Limited Edition Beauty Beats (Girls on Tour with Justin Bieber) Collection and Product Reviews.

Hi lovelies,

This is just a quick mini-review/post but did you know that Essence have a collaboration collection with Justin Bieber? It's called the Beauty Beats/Girls on Tour Collection and like (almost) all their collections, it's limited edition!

Now don't stone me for this but I'm really not the biggest Bieber fan...so I wasn't all too tempted to pick any of the items up until I was walking through Priceline and stumbled across this!

Is it just me or does the Biebs look a bit vampire-esque here?
Keep reading after the jump!

Naturally, with such a well-equipped stand (and okay, with pretttyyyy products), I just HAD to take a closer look...

Essence Beauty/Beats Girls on Tour with Justin Bieber Collection

There are quite a products in this collection, namely a shimmer powder, sheer lipgloss (in coral, pink and mint), four polishes (grey, mint, coral and purple - what's with Biebs and purple? Remember his Nicole by OPI collaboration?), mono shadows (grey, purple and mint), a blush (hot pink), transfer solution (for newspaper/print manicures), print paper and eyeliners. Last but not least, there were also some hair ties that looked remarkably similar to twistbands, available in hot pink and purple.

Naturally, I couldn't resist picking up a couple of items...even if they were part of the Bieb's Collaboration! I went with the Beauty Beats blush in 'Groupie at Heart' and eyeshadow in 'Baby, Baby, Ooh!'.

Like all Essence products, the plastic casing is relatively sturdy, despite the low price tag (I can't remember how much the blush was but I think it was about $5, give or take a bit), and with excellent pigmentation.

The design embossed on both products is extremely cute...though it probably won't last past a few uses. I've already used both products a few times and I'm well pleased, it shows up well on my cheeks and eyes and blends quite smoothly, and I don't find any issues with early fading or creasing (but I do always wear a primer on my eyelids).

What do you think of this collection, lovelies? Are you tempted to pick up any of these if you see it? Priceline have released a list of the stores carrying this range, which you can view here. Are you a fan of the Biebs?

Much love,
MM.

  1. I am absolutely not a fan of Justin Bieber at all, although that blush is terribly pretty. Ugh, Essence and their cheap prices continually suck me in!

    1. I don't blame you, Candice, I feel the same way! The products have great quality, too.

  2. The good thing is this collection doesn't actually say his name on any of the products-- I'm not a fan either. I have managed to resist the collection so far but we'll see how long that lasts. super impressed by the pigmentation in your swatches.

  3. The blusher's more affordable than I thought! And it's such a pretty shade :)
I'm not a fan on Bieber, so I walked right past this display when I saw it...but that blush is really cute...

    1. I believe most of their blushers are about that price, and they certainly are pretty!

I would've bypassed the stand because of him, but I got sucked in by the pretty colours. :P

  4. I saw this collection but restrained myself. The blush looks really unique, kinda purple-ish!

    1. Good on you, Sheri, for having more self-restraint than I did! It really is a very pretty shade. :)

  5. The purple is gorgeous and I love how bright the blush is. I don't have a Essence stand anywhere near me, and by the time I get to one it'll be all grubby and gross! I'd def be tempted to pick up a few things though, and what's wrong with Biebs?? He's a talented artist, both on stage and apparently with spray paint! :P lol

    1. I love how pigmented the Essence products generally are, Loz. I feel your pain, though, the limited edition products are always hard to get and the stands are usually not very well maintained!

Haha, he's talented but just a little bit too young for my tastes. ;)

  6. This collection is so difficult for me to deal with. I hate celebrity based products, they just annoy the crap out of me and JB is not a fave of mine by a long shot but that blush! I'd also like to add those hair ties to my collection but Bieber... Why did it have to be Bieber!?!

    1. I feel your pain, Hailey!

I don't tend to buy products based on who they are endorsed by, but what they look like and if they perform according to my needs. Having said that, it must make some business sense or they wouldn't pay celebs millions for it otherwise!

Ah, such dilemmas we beauty addicts face...principles or needs? Hehe.

  7. pretty products...but I just can't bring myself to buy anything to do with Bieber (or 1D for that matter!) The fact that these teen 'heart throbs' are in your face all the time and on every bit of merchandise imaginable just annoys me haha 1D pillow pets, JB singing toothbrushes argh!

    1. It certainly is annoying, but that's probably because we're too old for their target audience. :P

I didn't know they had singing toothbrushes, what a novel idea, lol!

  8. Not a fan at all, even my daughter is too old for him, but still I managed to buy the exact same products!

  9. Great swatches! Not a fan of the Biebs and while I usually love their LE makeup, this isn't my favourite, plus I'm on a shopping ban, so it's all good!

    1. Thank you! Limited editions suck us in so easily, don't they?!

Good luck for your shopping ban!

  10. Haha looks like many of the above commenters are not fans of JB either :P I don't really like celebrity products at all (the new 1D perfume is another annoying trend!) but damn that blush is pretty!! And the prices are tempting too.

  13. Some of his songs are ok, but I wouldn't say I'm a fan. The colours from the collection aren't too bad, the colours look lovely against your skin.

    1. I agree, Evon, I don't mind some of his songs, it's just a shame he's an annoying little brat. :P

      Thank you!

  14. I'm not a fan of him, neither like his songs, but some products of the collection seems nice.
The purple eyeshadow seems darker in the packaging but in the swatches it's ok too.
I'm following your blog, hope you like mine and do as well.

  15. No offence but all of these hate comments are so immature. Judging Justin from what the media says is just really stupid. Beliebers can be any age, and I am one, and I am in my late thirties. I was filled with joy after watching his Believe movie. People who are saying how bad the products are jealous. Every hate comes from jealousy.

    1. None taken. :) I'm curious as to why you think it's inmature. It's not so much what the 'media says', but what is portrayed in photos etc.

Everyone has their favourite artistes, as well as their least favourite artistes. Personally, my reasons for disliking him are the fact that he showed up late to his (sold out) concerts, is usually half drunk when dealing with the media, and generally acts like..well, an immature 20 year old with too much money on his hands. Normal behavior, I suppose, but sad in someone who is looked up to as a role model by so many of his generation.

As to people saying the products are bad being jealous, where did anyone say that? Most of us here are saying the products look great (I said they ARE great, from feel/pigmentation). I just have a problem with buying a product endorsed by someone I don't think too highly of.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting. :)
