Hi lovelies,
I've been trying to settle back into the routine of things here in Melbourne, so I decided to kick off by doing a quick recap of the December subscription boxes, which all arrived after I left for holidays with the family.
I'll start with the December Her Fashion Box. I found this box to be fairly exciting from the beauty perspective, but a bit disappointing from the fashion side of things, which is a shame as I have loved the previous October and November boxes. In the Dec box, I received:
ModelCo eyeshadow trio
Her Fashion Box blue earrings
Her Fashion Box black necklace
Her Fashion Box hairtie
Urban Rituelle Frangipani body balm
Katy Perry Killer Queen perfume sample
White Glo toothpaste
Fing'rs heavy metal polish kit
Her Fashion Box super smoothies sachets (x2)
Transparent clutch purse
Keep reading after the jump!
I love Urban Rituelle so was happy to see the body balm sample, and I'm always happy to receive perfume samples. I was also really excited to see the Fing'rs kit as it was one that caught my eye a while ago. I wasn't as excited to see the eyeshadow trio as I already have it, so I'm probably going to pass it on to a friend. White Glo is not the most exciting thing to see in a subscription box, but I can live with it. The transparent clutch is something I can't ever imagine wearing out (I dislike the thought that everyone could see what I was carrying) so this will probably serve as something I take on long distance flights. Here's the kicker, I was pretty disappointed in the fashion accessories as the hair tie wasn't very exciting, the earrings were pretty (but didn't appear of fantastic quality), and the necklace was already missing parts when it arrived. I've let Her Fashion Box know but thus far, have yet to receive a conclusive reply (I'll be sure to update if I hear anything). I'm also not super keen on the super smoothie, mainly because I don't have a blender, but I'm sure I can pass it on to someone who might like it.
On to the December Lust Have It* box. I received:
Maybelline New York Dream Fresh BB Cream
Maybelline New York Dream Fresh BB Cream with Salicylic Acid (sachet)
Pelactive Hydrating Cream Cleanser
SunSense Anti-Ageing Face Cream SPF30+
Uriage Gel Cream
Clairol Visible Repair Intensive Face Mask
Truth be told, I wasn't overly excited with this box in the beginning...it's pretty heavy on skincare which usually doesn't excite me overly much. However, I have to admit that this box did grow on me. I used to have the Maybelline BB cream but ended up giving it away, so it will be good to actually try this one. I like the sound of the hydrating cream cleanser, the gel cream (unique concept) and the intensive mask, so I'm looking forward to trying these out.
Last but not least, the box which ended up being my favourite of the lot, the December Violet Box*! I received:
Crabtree & Evelyn Pomegranate Hand Therapy
J'Adore Les Levres Sweetpea & Fay Liquid Lipstick in Willa (medium purple with pink undertones)
Jelly Pong Pong Wide Awake Palette
Evo The Therapist Calming shampoo
Evo The Therapist Calming conditioner
Plus a candy cane for Christmas
Here's a box I loved! Crabtree & Evelyn have great hand lotions, and while I'm addicted to many of them, Pomegranate is not one I already owned, so I was happy to add it to my collection. The liquid lipstick is gorgeous, and from a brand I'd never heard of, so I'm happy to give it a go! I was also really excited to see the Jelly Pong Pong palette, I've loved the other JPP products we received in previous boxes, and I've also been really into highlighting and contouring, so this palette will be fun to try. I'm not sure how I'll use the trio shades for brows (they look more like eyeshadows to me), but I'm going to experiment and report back. Evo shampoos and conditioners are something I've received in previous boxes from other brands, but they are quite good products and very handy for travelling with, so I'm not fussed about seeing them in my box. The candy cane was also a great touch!
There you have it, lovelies, my recap of the December boxes. What did you think of the boxes, if you received any (or all) of these? Which one was your favourite?
Much love,
MM.

I wouldn't carry around a transparent clutch either, it's hard enough worrying about how we look, I don't need to be worrying about how the contents of my bag look.
ReplyDeleteI think the LHI would have been my fave followed by the violet box. Must resist urge to subscribe!
That sums it up perfectly, Hailey! Imagine...erm, 'unmentionables' rolling around in there. :P
DeleteMaybe you can subscribe to a one off box for your birthday or something. :)
I ended up using my clutch for travel shower items like toothbrush/toothpaste, body wash and shower puff. Perfect for the shower.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love the little jelly pong kit you got. How adorable. I've been liking pelactiv products lately so that's a great inclusion in the lust box.
That's a great idea, BM!
DeleteI agree, JPP have been a great brand to get to know and so has Pelactiv!
Hmmm...interesting. It seem to have great products in it. Hope to read reviews about these.
ReplyDeleteI'll do my best. :)
DeleteI wasn't overly thrilled with all the skincare in the LHi box either, but now I'm using it all, so it can't be all bad :) lol
ReplyDeleteSometimes a box takes a little while to grow on you!
