Eye of Horus Goddess Pencils Review & Swatches (Entire Collection)!

I have got a bit of a treat for you today, as I've got my hot little hands on the entire collection of Eye of Horus Goddess Pencils!

In case you aren't familiar with Eye of Horus (EOH), they are an Aussie brand (based in Melbourne, no less!) which have beautiful eye makeup based on ancient Egyptian formulas and ingredients, including Moringa Oil. I was fortunate enough to win some products from them a few months ago, and promptly fell in love with their Goddess pencils. Their smokey eye pencil (black) has actually become a Holy Grail product for me, which says a lot as I use black liner almost every single day and probably own about ten different ones.

There are nine pencils in the Goddess pencil collection, as follows:

Ingredients.

The pencils have a little smudger at the end, which is capped with a lid corresponding with the colour of the pencil (with the exception of the black liner, which is capped with gold).

The Goddess pencils are a little waxy in texture, and glide beautifully along the eyelid without any tugging or pulling. They take a little while to set (40 seconds according to the EOH website), so you can smudge the liners with the sponge tip provided at the end of the pencil for a softer look. Once they set, they set firmly and the waterproof formula keeps it in place all day. Oddly enough, the liner can remain perfectly in place through a shower (and washing my face), yet removes very easily with a little dab of eye makeup remover (or my Shu Uemura cleansing oil)!

I love using these pencils on my waterline as they never cause irritation, something very important to a contact lens wearer like myself.

I cannot rave on enough about the pigmentation of these shades, so I will let the swatches speak for themselves.

In case you were wondering if Lazuli Blue, Emerald Tabula, Teal Malachite and Serpentine Sultry look similar, they really don't! I've swatched them side by side for you below.

The pencils really are remarkably versatile.

I've used them as an eyeshadow before by drawing over the mobile lid and then blending out with a fingertip. Bronze Amulet and Nubian Brown can also be used as eyebrow pencils in a pinch, I did that when I was away on a weekend trip and forgot my brow pencil! I find it works best with a spoolie to comb the liner through your brows, because it can look a bit harsh otherwise.

The pencils retail at $30 each, and are available for purchase from the Eye of Horus website. There are often promotional packs on offer, which give you a substantial saving off the price. For instance, Jewel Amethyst and Lazuli Blue are new to the collection, so there is currently a pack offering both pencils, the famous mascara and a sharpener for $75, which you can buy here.
