Remember how I picked up the limited edition Tarte Kiss & Belle LipSurgence set in Part 1 of my birthday haul? Here are my thoughts on this gorgeous little gift set, just in time for the Friends & Family sale over on the Tarte website (US-Based, so you might need to use a parcel forwarding company if you're outside of the US), but more on that later. Isn't the box gorgeous? I admit that I'm having a hard time throwing it out.

This set contains:
4 deluxe LipSurgence lip tints in Dreamy (raspberry), Alluring (nude mauve), Innocent (beige nude) and Dainty (pale pink).
2 deluxe LipSurgence matte lip tints in Eternal (pink nude) and Fancy (plum berry).
2 deluxe LipSurgence lipglosses in Kiss (light pink) and Belle (raspberry).
For some reason, the Alluring LipSurgence in my set has the word matte on it, though it's definitely not a matte lip colour, as you'll see from the swatches later.

My thoughts? This set is a gorgeous addition to any lipstick lover's collection. The LipSurgence tints have a pleasant, minty scent that's quite refreshing and causes a slight tingling on the lips, while the glosses are your standard gloss without scent or taste. The glosses are also non-sticky, providing a hit of moisture and slip on the lips. Each deluxe tint has 1.75 g of product, while the deluxe glosses have 1.5 ml of product. The full sized tints have about 2.8 g of product and the full sized glosses have almost 8 ml of product, so overall, you're getting really good value for the whole set.
The LipSurgence lipsticks are packed with antioxidants like Vitamin C and E, peppermint oil and jojoba seed oil. They're also meant to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and while the glossy tints and glosses do help a little, I can't really notice much of that with the matte tints.

The packaging is your standard crayon format for the LipSurgence tints with the colour of each tint reflected on the packaging, while the lids are cheerfully striped for a fun appearance. The glosses, however, are in a clear tube so you can see the colour, with a gorgeous floral lid that matches the box. They come with a doe foot applicator that's easy to trace around the contours of your lips. All the shades are incredibly pigmented, with the exception of the paler shades like Kiss, Dainty and Innocent, so it's easy to mix and match shades to create custom colours.

The negatives? I can only think of one; because it's an exclusive limited edition set, none of the shades are available from the usual collection...so if you fall in love with a colour, you have absolutely no chance of buying it in full-size! That's a shame as there are some stunning shades in this set, I'm totally in love with Alluring and I'm rationing my use of it so I don't finish it too quickly.
Now, on to the best part! This set usually retails for $34 USD at Sephora, but you can also purchase it from Sephora stores worldwide (I bought mine from Sephora Malaysia), or directly from Tarte. Tarte are currently running their annual Friends and Family sale with 30% off storewide, with a free sample and free US shipping with purchases exceeding $40 USD, so this set will be available for $23.80 USD, an absolute steal! Apply code DECFNF at checkout for your discount (not an affiliate code, I just want you to save) before 11 Dec 2014, while stocks last!
Run, don't walk! This set would not just make a great gift idea (for others, or even to yourself), but are also great stocking stuffers!
Do you like the look of this set, lovelies? Are you as crazy for Christmas sets as I am?
Much love,
MM.

Did you try Googling to see if there's a stockist in your area? I know there sometimes is...though, nothing is as good as being able to swatch in person!

They don't really apply like a lipstick, they are something like a cross between a lipbalm and a lipstick, so they're pretty comfortable to wear. :)
