Halloween 2016 Makeup Look!

Hi lovelies,

As I mentioned in my Lush Halloween post yesterday, Halloween is one of my favourite times of year!

I wanted to do something simple this year, so here's what I came up with. I'm not very happy with it as I tried to use a glow-in-the-dark base underneath the makeup, and not only did it NOT glow, it also made it really hard for me to apply makeup on top, which is why some of it looks so blurry and smeary. The lighting was also pretty bad as I took it in the light of my vanity table after work, and natural lighting would have been much better! Never mind, more room for improvement next time!

Honestly, I think the lips were my favourite part!

This look was very easy to achieve, I simply put some Nyx Jumbo Liner in Milk over my mobile lid and in my brows. I patted on some purple shadow from the BH Cosmetics Eye on the 60s palette over the lid and on the lower lash line, and also created some ombre brows with the same shade. I blended out the crease with a brown shade from the palette, applied some liner using the new Rimmel Scandaleyes Thick and Thin liner, and applied falsies from GlamEyes in the Selena style.

I tried to use the same liner to draw the lines on my face, but it was dragging a bit on the glow-in-the-dark base I used, so I couldn't get the nice, crisp lines I wanted. Lips were done using Eye of Horus black smokey liner, and I used a brow brush dipped in black eyeshadow to create the 'stitches'.

That's it!

Oh, and I was invited to a Halloween party for Nyx cosmetics a couple of weeks ago, so here's the quick look I recreated from a couple of years ago...I was a lot happier with this easy look and the photo was taken in natural light, so the quality was much better!

Have an awesome Halloween, what's on the agenda for today? Don't forget to check out the other Halloween works I've created in past years here.

Much love,
MM.

  1. How disappointing that your glow-in-the-dark base didn't glow in the dark! Still a great look however!

  2. I'm sorry for the "glowing" base, I would be pretty sad too. But I like your look anyway, actually both of them. :)
